Quiet Love

So how do I make you feel?

It feels safe here.

Like the noises within were hushed to sleep.

Sleep so sound, i hear them dream.

Sounds like, how you said hello with a smile from the far end of the crowded hallway.

smile that shaped out from the corner of your lips and faded gently as you walked away from my line of sight.

A smile i haven’t had enough of yet.

Or voices of an outlandish euphonious laughter heard from the top floor of a quiet library.

It looked a lot like the poise you take behind your laptop.

And the way you would bury your head in your screen, immersed in the world wide space.

And i secretly hoped nobody else noticed how beautiful you looked from across the room

How you whisper vanilla chai latte at the cafe,

the mannerism in which you  held the mug in your hands,

sipping on to your drink, with your eyes fixated on mine .

All quietly.

It sounded like all the things we would be saying to each other in shared unawkward silences,

Silences we instead filled with conversations on space, aliens and your favourite celestial body,

losing ourselves to space-time theories.

How we built ourselves rockets dressed in space-suits

And right there, amidst shared silence, had our first spaceflight. 🙂

So how will i love you?

From a distance.

Quietly.

Subtly.
